Very pretty, runs big in the chest and shoulders

Dress is gorgeous. We ordered a medium and for reference my child is 5’1” and 120#. They carry their weight in their middle and we followed the measurements for the belly. It ended up being large in the shoulders and chest. It was also very long. My child just wore huge platform shoes rather than getting it shortened. This is their version of a Victorian Miku.

Nice dress Well made

Overall looks just like the photos Well made. No loose threads or crooked seams the fabric is lightweight but not see through .No sheen a matte black. Its not a bad fabric but not taffeta or poplin as listing states. I didn’t expect a weight like a cotton however so its fine. Surprisingly The dress actually is a bit big on me and I did use the size chart. So o worries about being too small like other garments made overseas sometimes are. This is going to be a witch outfit for me but you could easily use a hoop or full crinoline with the dress as the skirt is long and ample. I like it and would recommend to anyone as a costume or even a modest formal dress

What am amazingly good quality dress!

I ordered the Black 2 in a size Large for a party. Sadly, it did not arrive in time, but arrived today. Fit wise, it is perfect. I was able to cinch the back ribbon lacing (which comes in the package, along with the neck piece) tight and it fits very well. I have broad shoulders, and am 5’2″ tall, with a medium, curvy build. It works well with a 4-layer tulle petticoat underneath. The length works for me with a very low heeled shoe and no length or other alterations are required. If you are in between sizes and wondering about buying a Medium, the one thing I can say is that the neck piece is a tad on the smaller side, so if you neck is larger, you might want to choose a larger sized dress.
The reason for my review is to say that, while I cannot attest to the quality of the fabric in some of the styles offered for this item, the fabric used for Black 2, which is a black/gold pattern, is excellent, with a good weight, and it looks and feels like a substantial poly satin jacquard, has a lovely lustre, and is not at all cheap. The dress is well-stitched and constructed (I am also a seamstress). I am really pleasantly surprised. Similarly, looking at the other styles offered, it appears that Black 1 and Red are using the same quality fabric, so if that is the case, then I would heartily recommend those styles, as well.
I am disappointed this dress did not arrive in time for the party I planned for it, but it is of such a nice quality, I may keep it to wear another time!

A Petite Buyer’s Honest Review: Stunning Vintage-Inspired Dress

A Petite Buyer’s Honest Review: Stunning Vintage-Inspired Dress (With Some Tweaks!)

As a 5’3″ woman with a classic hourglass figure (37″ hips, 27″ waist, 34″ bust), finding structured dresses that flatter my proportions often feels like hunting unicorns. This $100 vintage-style dress came so close to being perfect out of the box – but required some problem-solving and alterations to truly shine. Here’s my full experience:

Fit & Comfort
The tailored waistline and full skirt beautifully accentuate curves, but the original back closure (a non-stretch lace-up design) turned into a Houdini act. The stiff collar and waist stitching left zero wiggle room – I genuinely panicked trying to remove it post-photoshoot! Pro tip discovered later: There’s a hidden side zipper (game-changer!) that makes entry/exit infinitely easier. Sleeves sit at true mid-arm length; petite folks like me may want to hem 1-2 inches.

Material Truths
Let’s be real: This isn’t Renaissance Faire-level brocade, but the weighty satin-chintz blend feels substantial. The fabric drapes beautifully over a hoop skirt (a must for maximum drama) and doesn’t wrinkle easily. My first shipment arrived with a faint front-panel stain (unacceptable at this price), but customer service processed a seamless return. The replacement arrived flawless.

Alterations Made Easy
Being sewing-savvy paid off:

  • Removed original back lacing, added discreet bra strap holders
  • Shortened sleeves by 1.5″ for better wrist clearance
  • Bonus: Added modesty panel behind collar (personal preference)

Final Verdict
With minor tweaks, this became my go-to for themed events. The ankle-length skirt (worn over a 58″ hoop) creates gorgeous volume without tripping hazards. While I’d prefer stretchier waist detailing, the hidden zipper and customizability make this a solid 4.5/5 for petites. Just triple-check for shipping defects!

Womens Lace Marie Antoinette Ball Gown Dress

So excited! It came early, even better. Tried it on right away and was so impressed! It has a little weight to it, made well, adjustable with the tie back. Material feels good. I tried it on without the petticoat and I was surprised how much fluff there still was with it due to how the fabric lays with the bunching. I will still get a petticoat though, I just couldn’t wait to try on! Normally I don’t leave reviews but I was so impressed because I’m always nervous buying things like this online. This was worth it!! I would purchase again and recommend, it hands down, to others! Only thing might be it was a little tight in the arms when I raised them but not to bad.
I’m 5′ 5′ 165lbs, got a medium if that helps anyone!

LOVE this dress! Definitely worth the price, including the expedited shipping which arrived even quicker than estimated. It fit spot on according to the guide. Did some alterations to lower the bust, took it in around the torso, and raise the hem. If you have any sewing skill it’s well worth it to make it fit you as the synching strings help but don’t shape it the best. I got so many compliments and can’t wait till wear it for another occasion.

Bought this for a Halloween costume and it fit great…I’m 5’6 and weigh 170..I ordered the XL because the reviews said it ran a little small…the lace up back made adjusting it to fit very easy…there is no stretch in the fabric so I would size up if your not sure…I did purchase the hoop skirt along with it and it made the dress really full and with boots I had no problem with the length. The picture was just last minute so I could write the review

10/21 Edit: I added a photo from a Masquerade ball we went to. Got SO many compliments! (Ordered a separate hoop crinoline that really flattered this dress!)

10/10: Let me first start off by saying- I expedited- and got it a WHOLE DAY early than expected. Ordered it last Thursday and got it today!
Twooooooo this thing is amazing! The fabric is a lot better than I thought it would be. The reviews had me SUPER nervous so I ordered up two sizes, and It’s way bigger than I expected 😂 but I’d rather it be too big than too small. Love love love! This is gonna be a hit for Halloween! ❤️ Thanks so much!

Great dress! I’m wearing it for a Gone With the Wind theme birthday party. You will need a hoop as it is very long. My hoop is huge and I’ll still have to take the dress up a few inches. It is comfortable and not itchy. I am an 18/20 and I got the 3X. It is a little large in the arms but I couldn’t have gone smaller in the bust area and I’m a 42D.
