Fans can experience the “glitz, glamour and romance” of Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries in a two-part television special on E!, the network said Wednesday.

“Follow the bride, groom and entire Kardashian clan every step of the way, from the lavish wedding planning to the fabulous parties to the highly anticipated big day when Kim and Kris say ‘I do,'” a statement read.

Kardashian, 30, got engaged to the New Jersey Nets player, 26, in May and the pair will marry Aug. 20.

The bride-to-be revealed this week she will wear a wedding dress created by family friend and celebrated designer Vera Wang for her “wedding extravaganza.”

“Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event” will air Oct. 9 and 10 on E!, which is also home to the starlet’s hit reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

Supermodel, Thailand tsunami survivor and former “Dancing With The Stars” contestant Petra Nemcova sat down with the Telegraph to talk about her charity, the Happy Hearts Fund, which helps countries rebuild after natural disasters when the first responders leave. Nemcova mentioned that in the last five years, Happy Hearts has reconstructed 51 schools and has a presence in nine countries.

She also discussed her upcoming wedding to British actor Jamie Bellman, explaining, “We met through a neutral friend, well, his best friend since he was ten, so for twenty years — and he’s now engaged to my best friend who I’ve known for seven years. And they brought us together and so it’s stayed in the family, which is wonderful.”

Deets, girl, deets! Petra added, “In terms of the wedding and the preparation, there are some things set in stone, like the date, which will be in June 2012, and the wedding will be in England, since we both love England. It will be in the countryside. The wedding dress will be designed by Marchesa. The relationship with Marchesa, for me, has been for many, many years. It’s just nice to be able to wear them even on that special day. And I can’t wait to see what they will create.”

Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky has had to put her wedding plans with fiance Roberto Martinez on hold while she recovers from an injury to her femur, for which she underwent surgery in July.

“We had a date set, and that date has now passed,” the reality starlet, 26, said. “The decision to postpone the wedding was very difficult. I definitely shed some tears.”

“But I want to walk down the aisle,” she said, “I don’t want to limp down the aisle.”

Instead, the couple spent their would-be wedding day together.

“It was one of the best days we’ve had, just me and him,” Fedotowsky, who feels no need to rush the nuptials, said.

“In my mind, Roberto is my husband,” she said. “We live together; we do everything together; we plan for the future together; we fight just like a good old married couple. The only thing that’s not saying “I’m married” is another ring on my finger and a piece of paper.”

Sure, Kate wears Zara. And buys Frosted Flakes. But are she and the rest of the royal gang really “just like us”?

More and more so everyday, says “The Today Show.” Between grocery shopping at the local supermarket and repeating an outfit (or twenty), the Duchess of Cambridge has demonstrated her thrifty side since ascending to royalty.

It’s all part of a royal-wide trend towards frugality and a down-to-earth lifestyle.

Will and Kate flew home from cousin Zara Phillips’ wedding to Mike Tindall this past weekend on a budget airline, sitting among the common folk in coach and spending a mere $62 on each ticket, reported AOL Travel.

Prince Harry also roughed it on a cheap flight, flying on the most low-budget of the budget airlines, EasyJet (a harrowing experience if there ever was one — we’ve done it). The cost of his ticket? $80.

Newlyweds Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall also demonstrated their recession-friendly ways by postponing a lavish honeymoon so they could both get right back to work immediately after the wedding. Prince William did the same, returning to his job as an air rescue pilot only days after his April royal wedding.

It’s all an effort, says “The Today Show,” to be more down-to-earth and in touch with the rest of us commoners. By keeping modest lives and maintaining professional identities outside of the palace walls, the new breed of royals are thoroughly modern.

Then again, there’s still that whole “in line for the throne” part. Maybe the royals aren’t just like us…
